A Day Shooting the Bison at Tallgrass Prairie - Pawhuska, OK for The Kimmell Foundation.

This was a weekend to shoot a barrel race on Sunday so I headed to the lake to be closer and I also needed to get some more shots of bison for a project I am doing for the Kimmell Foundation. The plan was to wake up around 7:00 AM, get around and leisurely head to Tallgrass. Well…. I woke up at 4:30 and after laying there for 30 minutes I decided to get up and around and head that way. Pulled out of the drive at 5:30 which gave me a big jumpstart on my day. I made the 2 hour drive up to Pawhuska (Home of the Pioneer Lady) and immediately saw a massive herd of bison near the south entrance. Made the day much better to not have to hike around the massive preserve to find them. After 4 hours I was done and headed back to get ready for Sunday’s barrel race in Muldrow, OK. Great day spending the time with the bison in a beautiful part of Oklahoma. Truly blessed. Enjoy.
