Fire and Dance

This shoot was a huge project and the planning to make it happen was exhausting. In addition to all the planning the number of people in attendance was huge as well. I had three photographers, a videographer, drone pilot, screenwriter, a native american artist, Instagram influencers, the chief of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribe, big names in the native american community and numerous others. The shoot didn’t accomplish what I wanted and relayed to the team but I shifted focus and we ended up with a decent shoot. Because of the delays that evening we didn’t get the single shot that was the focus which was the bison lined up on the ridge in the background and the dancers and fire in the foreground. Is it frustrating, absolutely…. But the images turned out pretty good and the first image in the gallery below with the husband and wife dancers has racked up by far the most views and likes of any post I have done on Instagram. So it was fairly successful.
