A Cold Morning Shooting at the Grande Horn Ranch
If you live in the Oklahoma City metro area and drive down I-40 through Yukon at some point you have noticed the cool new building being built on the south side of the interstate. Welcome to the Grande Horn Ranch and offices to be housed in that cool new building! A few days ago I ran across the page of the ranch looking for places in Oklahoma that have bison and to my surprise there are a few right in my own backyard just a few minutes from my home. I looked up their Instagram page and reached out via a message just to see if there was an opportunity to take a few shots. One of the ranch caretakers is Cindy and not only is she fabulous but she is a dang good photographer as well. Usually photographers are standoffish and don’t really look to give up their private place to other photographers but that’s not the case with Cindy. She welcomed me out and drove me all over the ranch to not only photograph their bison but their Longhorn, Watusi and amazing horses. For Cindy to have these types of animals at her disposal and willing to share is truly unique and I can only thank her for opening up the ranch to drive me around for a few hours. She’s truly fantastic!
