A Night Downtown

I have done a good deal of photography in many different areas but for some reason I haven’t done any night shooting. Night photography is so foreign to me it was easy to dismiss the idea of giving it a go but I decided to make a run at it and it went great - or as great as it can being my first time out. The night was amazing…. It wasn’t cold, no wind, clear skies, practically a perfect night to take a shot at this new area.

When I decided to give it a try I reached out to my good friends Robert and Danielle to join me and selfishly I knew Robert a highly seasoned photographer would be giving me tips on camera settings and places to shoot and he pulled through with flying colors. Truly a magician with the camera and always happy to teach his craft. Danielle was an amazing help as well as she has shot downtown Oklahoma City a lot and knew great places to go and like Robert gave great advice.

We met in front of the ballpark in Bricktown and Robert’s first suggestion for a place to shoot was on top of a parking garage. I thought to myself why the heck would we shoot from a parking garage. Once we got to the top I understood…. truly am amazing place with incredible views in all directions. To the west was downtown Oklahoma City, the Devon Tower and the Paycom Arena where the Oklahoma City Thunder play. To the south was the river and more of Bricktown and directly to the south of us was the ballpark lightly lit making it an amazing view.

After shooting from the top of the parking garage we walked Bricktown and Downtown OKC for a couple of hours capturing some amazing shots.

Thanks to my two photography partners in crime - Robert and Danielle… Until next time.

Enjoy the shots from the night.
