Cowboy Christmas Parade - OKC Stockyard City

If you’ve ever been to the Oklahoma Stockyards City area you will understand how special of a place it is. It is truly unique. As you can expect everything revolves around a western theme from the stockyards themselves to the multitude of western stores and even the theatre is a western theme.

This year I decided to head down to the stockyards early Saturday morning to shoot the annual Cowboy Christmas Parade. I decided the need to get there super early was a must so I arrived around 8:30 for a 10:00 parade start to nearly no one there. I was surprised but shouldn’t be because getting to a parade an hour and a half early is a little ridiculous —— but I did get a fantastic parking spot which was perfect for later in the day.

There was a lot to see with everything from a Cowboy Santa, Longhorn Cattle Drive down Exchange Avenue, Mule Team and finally some shopping for jeans and listening to an awesome cowboy duo performing inside of Langston’s (more to come at a later date on that topic).

All in all a great day at the parade and a must see for anyone that hasn’t made it to one yet.
